Defense Minister on the Real Purposes of Training Gatherings

Defense Minister Suren Papikyan has posted a video on his Facebook page addressing the significance of the territorial defense system, reserve forces, and training gatherings.

"The reserve forces, a strong rear have great importance in the issue of the country's defense capability, and that is why we have formed the territorial defense and local self-defense system within our reforms. It implies a permanent system where we have permanent positions and personnel from the squad link to the command staff, whose function is to receive reservists during training gatherings, prepare them, and ensure their coordination during combat duty. This is a very important aspect, as we have bitter experience from the past, whereby we have witnessed or at least heard that often people are not able to manage their elementary problems," the minister stated.

Papikyan announced that training gatherings have been set for 25 days to minimize inconvenience to citizens. "Every year we do everything to improve both the system and the recruitment, as well as the living conditions of these people," the minister emphasized.
