Avanesyan on the Restrictions in the Insurance Package
Within the framework of the general insurance package, there is no maximum expenditure threshold set for one individual per year. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, during a working discussion dedicated to the implementation of the universal health insurance system in the National Assembly.
According to her, there is also no overall threshold for receiving services within the framework of general quantitative insurance; however, there are limitations for each specific service. “For example, for outpatient MRI examinations, we compensate for two instances per year. Any additional instances go beyond the insurance package,” the minister noted.
She added that there are also restrictions regarding consultations with specialists, where reimbursement is provided for two consultations. “There are specific thresholds for each service, and we have higher reimbursement prices; beyond that, we do not compensate for the cost of a specific service,” emphasized Minister Anahit Avanesyan.
