Zelensky Calls on the U.S. to Be Prepared for Compromise

Ukraine has not changed its position regarding territories. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda and Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Vilnius.

Zelensky noted that Russia has long been trying everything to keep "Ukraine away from the east," but has failed to achieve this goal on the front lines.

“Everyone knows our position. We fight for our own territory, not someone else's. These are two fundamentally different positions—Ukrainian and Russian. Americans are trying to find a compromise. We are ready to negotiate in a trilateral format. However, compromise requires that all parties be prepared. By the way, the American side as well,” Zelensky stated.

Commenting on the negotiations held in Abu Dhabi, the Ukrainian president also mentioned that the meetings discussed a 20-point peace plan and the problematic issues, which were numerous, but their number has decreased.

Zelensky added that Ukraine is waiting for security guarantees from the U.S. and Europe, which “will allow us to determine a specific date for the end of this war.” He noted that the bilateral security guarantees with the U.S. are 100% ready, and Kyiv is now waiting for the signing date and location.
