Congress Warns Trump He Could Face Impeachment If He Attacks Greenland

In early January, U.S. President Donald Trump and White House officials did not rule out the possibility of using force to seize Greenland. This raised concerns among both Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

Members of Congress contacted Secretary of State Marco Rubio and senior White House officials to express their worries and advise the administration against taking any further steps in this direction. Some Republican lawmakers also informed the White House officials that they fear a potential impeachment inquiry if any military intervention occurs in Greenland.

However, Reuters reports that the White House has never seriously discussed the use of force.
