According to Poweroutage, the total number of power outages in the US has exceeded 500,000, reaching 523,067, due to a severe snowstorm. The most significant issues with electricity supply have been recorded in Tennessee (128,918 homes), Texas (126,319), Mississippi (114,955), and Louisiana (85,352).

The National Weather Service warns of heavy snowfall and dangerous ice accumulation from East Texas to North Carolina. A state of emergency has been declared in at least 21 states across the country.
