Road Conditions in Armenia: Certain Sections Closed Due to Snow and Black Ice
All inter-state and republican highways in Armenia are open. However, due to adverse weather conditions, heavy snow, lack of visibility, and traffic safety considerations, roads are periodically closed. This information is provided by the Road Department Foundation.
Organizations responsible for road maintenance continue to work on clearing and treating the roads with salt and sand. Due to heavy snow, lack of visibility, and safety concerns, the roads from Noravan intersection to Shinihayer intersection and towards Goris, Tatev highway, and the Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev road section are closed for all types of vehicles.
The Ttsutjur-Navur highway is closed to all types of vehicles as well. The roads from the Jermuk intersection to Kapan, Vardenyats Pass, and Spitak bends are closed to vehicles with trailers. Light snow is falling in the Vayk region.
There is black ice at various places on the roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Dilijan, Jambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotk, and Amasia.
