Iran Prepares for the Worst-Case Scenario, Official Says
A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran will consider any attack by the United States, whether limited or large-scale, as a "full-scale war." According to the source, Iran's armed forces are in a state of high readiness and are preparing for the worst-case scenario.
It is worth recalling that mass protests have been taking place in Iran since December 28, 2025. The main reasons for the discontent are fluctuations in exchange rates and rising prices. However, later protests in several Iranian cities escalated into clashes with police, and the slogans took on a political nature, opposing the existing political regime in Iran.
On January 2, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States is prepared to defend the people of Iran if the country's authorities use force against them. Tehran condemned these threats.
