Security Violations: Nearly 400 Toys Destroyed
In 2025, approximately 400 toys were destroyed in Armenia. This was announced by Armen Kotolyan, the head of the State Market Surveillance Inspectorate, during a summary press conference.
According to Kotolyan, “The main risk in the fields of toys, low-voltage devices, and products for children and adolescents is due to the sale of products on the market without labeling and accompanying conformity documents. A total of 111 inspections were conducted, revealing 83 instances of non-compliance.”
“From the toys submitted by 14 operators in the sector, 21 samples were taken, out of which 4 showed violations of safety standards. The examinations were conducted in the inspectorate’s laboratory, resulting in the destruction of around 400 toys,” he elaborated.
