Fog in the Ashtarak Region: What is the Situation on the Roads?

The Emergency Situations Service has reported that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia. The roads leading from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and the Kar lake are closed in the Aragatcoten region.

The section of the Chambarak-Berd road from Ttujur to Navur, as well as the roads from Noravank junction to Goris and from Shinhayr to Tatev, are closed for all types of vehicles (the movement of passenger cars is only permitted via the Kapan-Ltsen-Noravank-Sisian-Vayots Dzor regional road).

The Vardenyats pass is closed for vehicles with trailers, while it is passable with difficulty for others. The Tigranashen serpentines, the Gyumri-Bavra, Gyumri-Vanadzor, Tashir-Gogavan roads, and the serpentines from Ashtarak to Spitak are closed for vehicles with trailers, and the section from the Jermuk junction to Kapan is difficult to traverse.

The Tashir-Blagodatnoye road is passable with difficulty for all types of vehicles. There are patches of black ice on the roads in Armavir, Aragatcoten, Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak regions, and at the section known as 'Chaini serpentines'.

Snowfall is recorded in the Dilijan serpentines, as well as in Vayots Dzor, Ararat, Aragatcoten, Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak regions, and in the city of Noyemberyan. Blizzard conditions are present in Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik regions, and in the Aragatcoten area. Fog is noted in the Ashtarak region.

According to information received from the Georgian Emergency Management Service and the North Ossetian Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
