Elon Musk Prepares to Return to Politics
Billionaire Elon Musk is making a return to political activity and plans to fund the Republican Party's campaigns for the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, reports The Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, influential representatives of the Republican Party, including U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance, have approached Musk for support in maintaining the slim majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The newspaper notes that Musk has already donated $10 million to a Republican Senate candidate, and his relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly improving.
The midterm elections for both chambers of the U.S. Congress are scheduled for November 3. The Wall Street Journal recalls that in 2024, Musk spent nearly $300 million supporting Trump and Republicans, becoming the largest public political donor in the United States. The newspaper assesses the current rapprochement as a pragmatic partnership, allowing Musk to maintain influence over the administration while providing the White House access to his resources and technical infrastructure.
