Liquid Gas Price Hike Not Terrifying, Says Gegham Gevorgyan
Armenia imports liquid gas through 187 economic entities, and there cannot be any anti-competitive agreement or abuse of a dominant position in this sector, stated Gegham Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition and Consumers, following a government meeting, in response to a question from Aysor.am.
According to him, the rise in liquid gas prices is not alarming. There are months when liquid gas prices increase, such as January and June. “The price hike was a result of the existing supply-demand relationship; there are many suppliers, but the offer is limited. Prices will decrease soon, and there’s nothing frightening about it. As the Prime Minister of Armenia announced in the previous meeting, with the resolution of transport hub issues, we will no longer be solely dependent on land transport,” the Commission Chairman assured.
