TRIP's Implementation Framework Lacks Legal Binding Force, Says Pashinyan

The energy systems of Armenia and Azerbaijan will connect to each other, and they will mutually utilize export and import opportunities under the same conditions. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a question-and-answer session in the National Assembly.

"The implementation framework of TRIP lacks legal binding force because it is a statement from two governments. It is a procedure, there was a declaration, an administrative process, after which drafts of legally binding agreements will be written, presented to parliament, and ratified. You are now forcing me to look at the issue from a different perspective. It is shameful that we do not notice this, but dear colleagues, the Republic of Armenia has already received a portion of mutual benefits. The price of gasoline has fallen by 20 percent, wheat is being imported into the Republic of Armenia from Kazakhstan and Russia, isn’t that an advantage? A part of mutual benefits has already been received," he noted.
