California Governor Banned from Entering Davos

California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has repeatedly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, has been banned from entering Davos, where he was invited to speak at the U.S. pavilion, according to his press service.

“Under pressure from the White House and the State Department, the House of Representatives is now denying Newsom entry to speak with the media after official media partner Fortune invited him to speak,” the statement posted on the governor’s press service Facebook page reads.

Previously, Politico, citing Newsom’s office, reported that the California governor would participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos to criticize U.S. President Donald Trump.

The World Economic Forum will take place in Davos, Switzerland from January 19 to 23.
