Denmark Rejects Trump's Proposed Agreement on Greenland
The Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen rejected the possibility of negotiations concerning the sale of Greenland to the United States, as reported by Bloomberg.
“We will not enter into negotiations based on a fundamental principle of abandonment. We will never do that,” the minister told reporters, adding that it is “inevitable” that the Danes categorically refuse the transfer of Greenland to the United States.
Rasmussen praised Trump's statement that he would not use force to assert control over Greenland. However, after the U.S. president's address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, it became clear that his ambitions “remain unchanged.”
