Joining NATO Was the Worst Deal Finland Ever Made: MP
The member of Finland's 'Freedom Alliance' party, Armando Meman, has stated that adopting an anti-Russian stance has harmed Finland's own interests and that joining NATO was the worst possible deal. Consequently, his party intends to restore friendly relations with Russia.
“Finland is now in a difficult strategic position between two superpowers. Choosing an anti-Russian stance, as it turned out, has negatively impacted Finland's strategic interests. Joining NATO was the worst deal made by Finland. Finland should have waited before making such a hasty decision. The Finnish economy continues to suffer, and it certainly will not improve in the future. We intend to restore friendly relations with Russia,” wrote MP Meman on social media.
He added that the policies of Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo have failed, and the American tariffs imposed on Helsinki demonstrate that a neutral stance is far better than an aggressive and militaristic approach.
