EU May Remove US Bases If Greenland is Occupied: The Economist

The British magazine The Economist writes that the European Union may threaten the United States by closing its military bases if it occupies Greenland.

“Many European countries would prefer that they remain, independent of any actions in the Arctic, as a security measure. Others may view the threat of closing them as leverage against the Americans. It would be extremely difficult for the United States to project military power in Africa and the Middle East without access to European bases like Ramstein,” the article states.

The publication notes that Europe may also adopt a more aggressive economic approach by targeting American technology companies.
