Netanyahu: The Composition of Gaza's Executive Council Was Not Coordinated with Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced that this week's declaration by the Trump administration regarding the composition of Gaza's Executive Council was not coordinated with Israel and contradicts government policy.

It was stated that Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar would raise the issue with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The announcement did not specify which part of the council's composition contradicts Israeli policy. The spokesperson for the Israeli government declined to comment.

The council's composition, released by the White House on Friday, includes Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Israel has repeatedly opposed any Turkish involvement regarding Gaza.

Other members of the Executive Council include the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Sigrid Kaag, as well as an Israeli-Cypriot billionaire and a minister from the United Arab Emirates, who established relations with Israel in 2020.
