Insufficiency of Vascular Network Can Lead to Heart Failure: Doctor of Ghukasyan Issues Statement
Lawyer Zaroui Postanjyan has published a statement from Vardan Ghukasyan's personal doctor: “I regret to inform that Mr. Vardan Ghukasyan's health condition has deteriorated once again. According to his defenders, he is continuously complaining of chest compressive pain, respiratory difficulties, as well as significant fluctuations in diabetes (blood glucose). As Mr. Ghukasyan's personal doctor, for inexplicable reasons, I have been deprived of the opportunity to see him and provide necessary medical assistance. In fact, the emergency medical service also cannot access the correctional facility.
I call for and urge the provision of necessary and immediate care, as any delay could have fatal consequences. Mr. Ghukasyan was recently discharged from a medical center, where among other conditions, the following were diagnosed:
- Ischemic heart disease,
- Stable angina pectoris, III functional class,
- Myocardial infarction history,
- Type 2 diabetes with severe course,
- Aortic enlargement.
Analyzing the patient’s accompanying conditions—diabetes (target organ involvement), hypertension, atherosclerotic damage, abdominal-type obesity, as well as cholesterol fraction data—the patient’s condition has been assessed as high risk according to the SCORE2 scale.
I should also note that according to coronary angiographic data, the following have been identified:
- 20% narrowing of the proximal segment of the LAD artery,
- 60% narrowing of the mid-segment of the LAD,
- Ectatic enlargement of the mid-segment of the LCX,
- 90% narrowing of the diagonal D2 artery.
In such a neglected and unstable condition, continuous insufficiency of the vascular network can lead to acute myocardial infarction, with all its severe complications, up to and including heart failure.
