One Person Arrested in Connection with Soldier's Death Case

The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated on January 14, 2026, regarding the death of a soldier, public criminal prosecution has been initiated against one person under Article 522, Part 2, Points 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code (leading a soldier to commit suicide through negligence).

The individual has been arrested, and a motion has been submitted to the court for the application of detention as a preventive measure.

It is noteworthy that on January 14, at around 09:50, the body of serviceman Vahan Khachaturov Petrosyan was discovered with a gunshot wound at the Ministry of Defense's military unit.
