Approximately 2000 People Have Died During Protests in Iran: Details

The Iranian authorities have reported that nearly 2000 people have died during protests, attributing deaths of civilians and security forces to "terrorists," according to an Iranian official speaking to Reuters.

Previously, the human rights organization HRANA reported 646 confirmed deaths, including 505 protesters, nine of whom were children, as well as 133 military and security personnel, one prosecutor, and seven civilians not involved in the protests.

An additional 579 deaths have been reported but have not yet been published or confirmed. According to rights agencies, the total number of arrests has exceeded 10,720.
