Preventive Health Checkups No Longer Mandatory for Social Package Beneficiaries, Ministry of Health

Beneficiaries of the social package whose salary is 200,001 drams or more are included in the insurance system as of the first phase starting January 1, 2026, according to the Ministry of Health.

“Their insurance fee will be reimbursed from the 5,500 drams allocated to the ‘Zinapah’ fund, with 4,500 drams directed to the Insurance Fund. At the same time, they can allocate their social package funds (72,000 drams) towards the insurance fee (6,000 drams monthly) by submitting a one-time application to their employer.

On the other hand, beneficiaries of the social package whose salary is less than 200,000 drams will continue to receive services within the framework of the social package through the Universal Health Insurance Fund, with a referral from a primary healthcare doctor.

It should be noted that preventive health checkups are no longer mandatory for social package beneficiaries.
