Speaker of the National Assembly Did Not Disclose Source of Information Regarding Armenia's Control Over 110 km² of Azerbaijani Territory
Alen Simonyan, the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, did not reveal the source of his information regarding the assertion that Armenian armed forces have controlled approximately 110 square kilometers of Azerbaijani territory since the 1990s, while Baku controls about 200 square kilometers of Armenian land.
During the 'ArmComedy' podcast, discussing the occupied territories by Azerbaijan between 2021 and 2022, Simonyan stated: "We are in their territory by 110 square kilometers, approximately. No one can say it to the millimeter. I officially state that since the 1990s, we have progressed. Now we are taking this from one side to the other." He further mentioned, "They are in our territory for about 200 square kilometers. I officially say that there are areas where we have advanced since the 1990s," he concluded.
Simonyan had made a similar statement in September 2025, using the word "suppose" at that time. Notably, he was referring not only to the enclaves from the former Soviet period but also to other territories.
