Relations with Iran are Strategic for Us – Ararat Mirzoyan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, received Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, who is in Yerevan for Armenian-Iranian political consultations. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions focused on the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Iran. Both sides emphasized their political agreement to elevate relations to a strategic level and discussed ongoing efforts in that direction.

In his remarks, Minister Mirzoyan stated, “We obviously give great importance to our relations with our neighbor and friendly Iran. Essentially, these are relations of strategic significance for us. It is no coincidence that President Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Pashinyan agreed that this year, which is already underway, we would officially elevate our relations to the level of strategic partnership.”

Ararat Mirzoyan and Majid Takht-Ravanchi exchanged views on the unblocking of regional infrastructures. The Armenian Foreign Minister emphasized Armenia's clear position that the unblocking of infrastructures should occur within the framework of fundamental principles. They discussed ongoing programs in this direction and the opportunities they present.
