Deployment of Multinational Forces in Ukraine Impossible Without Russia's Consent: Merz
Deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine is impossible without Russia's consent. This was announced by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
“The sequence of actions should be as follows: first a ceasefire, then security guarantees for Ukraine, and then a long-term peace agreement with Russia. And all this is impossible without Moscow's consent, and we are, obviously, still quite far from that,” he stated.
Today, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow will view the presence of Western troops in Ukraine as interference. The diplomat emphasized that this document aims at further militarizing the country, escalating and expanding military operations. The conflict can only be resolved after eliminating its root causes, with Ukraine returning to a non-aligned status and recognizing the territorial realities. She added that these objectives will be achieved either through diplomacy or special operations.
