Deployment of Military Facilities in Ukraine to be Considered Foreign Intervention, Zakharova

Russia warns that the deployment of Western military units, military facilities, and other infrastructure in Ukraine will be regarded as intervention, posing an immediate security threat, and that they will become legitimate targets for the Russian Armed Forces. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“According to clarifications from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, who signed a corresponding trilateral statement with Zelensky, London and Paris plan to create their own military bases in Ukraine after the ceasefire and establish storage facilities for weapons and military equipment there,” said Zakharova.

She emphasized that the deployment of military units, military facilities, warehouses, and other infrastructure of Western countries in Ukraine will be considered foreign intervention, which poses an immediate threat not only to Russia but also to the security of other European countries.

“All such units and facilities will be regarded as legitimate combat targets of the Russian Armed Forces. These warnings have been repeatedly made at the highest level and remain relevant,” Zakharova noted.
