Roads Closed and Difficult to Pass, Black Ice Present

The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are closed roads in the Republic of Armenia. The roads from the ‘Amberd’ high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kary are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed only for vehicles with trailers. There is black ice in places on the roads of Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Tumanyan, Tashir, Sevan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Ashotzk, Amasia, and Vanadzor regions. Drivers are urged to travel exclusively on winter tires.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation’s Emergencies Ministry for North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
