Black Ice on Several Roads

The Road Department of Armenia has reported that as of January 7 at 9:00 AM, the Vardenyats Pass is closed only to vehicles with trailers. Other vehicles are allowed to pass.

There are reports of black ice on the roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Tumanyan, Tashir, Sevan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Artik, Ashotsk, Amasia, and Vanadzor.

Interstate and national significance roads are open. Road construction crews are working on cleaning and treating the roads with salt and sand.
