Russia Announces Favorable Conditions for Armenia to Construct New Nuclear Power Plant

According to official statistics, mutual trade has reached nearly 5 billion dollars in the first nine months of this year. This was stated by Sergey Kopirkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Armenia, in an interview with the 'Noah's Ark' newspaper.

"The significant decline compared to last year is due to the decrease in the re-export of Russian precious stones and metals. At the same time, the structure of trade has improved, making it less dependent on market conditions and the narrow range of products. The ball is in Yerevan's court regarding the plans to construct a new energy block for the Armenian nuclear power plant in Metsamor. The state-owned 'Rosatom' corporation has presented a detailed and highly favorable package of offers to its Armenian partners and is ready to implement them as soon as possible. I would like to emphasize that there are no real alternatives in terms of the availability of reliable, proven technologies, as well as attractive financial parameters," he noted.
