US Supports Israeli Flights in Iraqi Airspace, Threatens Stability: Ambassador
The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Mohamad Kazem Al-Sadeq, has stated that Tehran has detected US reconnaissance flights utilizing Iraqi airspace to monitor Iranian territory, according to Mehr news agency.
He warned that the United States is supporting Israeli flights in Iraqi airspace, which poses a threat. He also emphasized Iran's readiness to respond to any hostile actions while respecting Iraq's sovereignty and the decisions of its government.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of regional cooperation to protect airspace and territorial integrity, citing US reconnaissance flights over Iraq as an example. Al-Sadeq also mentioned the need for independent security management in the Persian Gulf region, cautioning against reliance on foreign armed forces.
“Security is an exclusively internal and regional issue. We hope that the countries of the region, including Iraq, will prioritize regional dialogue rather than allow foreign control and interference,” he said.
