Switzerland Cannot Defend Against Large-Scale Military Attack, Army Chief Says
Switzerland cannot defend itself against a large-scale military attack and needs to increase defense spending in light of the growing threat from Russia, announced Thomas Süssli, the outgoing chief of the Swiss Army General Staff.
“It is concerning to realize that in a real emergency, only one third of all soldiers would be fully equipped,” Süssli added.
According to him, at the current pace, the Swiss army will only be able to defend itself properly by 2050.
