Russia to Continue Supporting the Development of Armenia's Rescue Forces

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will assist in the development of the capabilities of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center. This was announced by Alexander Kurenkov, the Russian Minister of Emergency Situations.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, Kurenkov mentioned that Russia plans to provide support in 2026 for the further development and operation of joint humanitarian centers in Armenia, Serbia, and Cuba.

He noted that foreign specialists have been invited to the International Scientific Practical Conference "Russian Ice-2026" focusing on diving professions.

The Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center was established based on an agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia on May 19, 2015. The center supports search and rescue operations, addresses the aftermath of earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, extinguishes fires, delivers humanitarian aid, and enhances the qualifications of personnel from national emergency services.

The center is located in Balakhovit, on the site of the former communications base of the Soviet Armed Forces.
