Karen Sarukhanyan: I Will Not Be on the Electoral List of the 'Civil Contract' Party
In the parliamentary elections scheduled for 2026, I will not be on the electoral list of the 'Civil Contract' party, but I will be actively involved in the pre-election campaign and organizational work. Furthermore, I will continue my activities in the executive branch or other state bodies in the future. This was stated by Karen Sarukhanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract faction.
“Dear compatriots, journalists, residents of the Shirak region, and especially Gyumri residents, since the founding day of the 'Civil Contract' party, as a founding member of the party, I have gone through a complex, responsible journey filled with numerous challenges, constantly fighting for the endurance of the statehood of the Republic of Armenia and the restoration of justice,” he wrote.
“After the revolution, I held various positions, and my mission has been one: to serve for the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia and to strengthen the statehood at all costs. Continuing to remain true to these values, it has been decided, following discussions with the leadership of the 'Civil Contract' party, that I will not be on the electoral list for the parliamentary elections in 2026. However, I will be involved in active campaigning and organizational efforts, and later I will continue my work in the executive branch or other state bodies.”
In response to your calls and numerous inquiries, I will say that the values that united me with the 'Civil Contract' party and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ten years ago remain unchanged, and I will continue to serve the Republic of Armenia, the Shirak region, and my beloved Gyumri, being always ready to replace the obsession of being the first with the willingness to be last for the sake of the common good,” he added.
