Gazprom Reports Critical Gas Reserves Situation in the Baltics
In Russia, Gazprom reports that the gas reserves situation in the Baltic countries is extremely critical, as the sole gas storage facility is half empty, which could pose serious challenges to the region's reliable gas supply during the cold season.
"The situation in the Baltic countries is extremely critical. The Inčukalns underground gas storage, which is the region's only gas storage facility, is already half empty," the company's statement on its official Telegram channel reads.
As of December 25, the capacity of the Inčukalns underground gas storage had decreased to 49.5%. It reached this level only in mid-February during the previous heating season.
Gazprom added that the insufficient volume of gas in the underground storage may pose a serious challenge to the reliable gas supply for consumers during the cold weather.
