All Issues Are Extremely Sensitive: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a Telegram post that Ukraine must work towards minimizing unresolved issues, emphasizing that there are red lines for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

“Of course, there are red lines for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. There are also compromise proposals. All of these issues are extremely sensitive. They relate to both territories and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” wrote Zelensky.

According to him, in the event of potential changes in approaches, Ukrainian authorities will necessarily communicate with the people before making any decisions, as it is the people who are the main decision-makers.

Zelensky remarked that such decisions could be made through a referendum or relevant legislative amendments. He emphasized that the most important issue is security guarantees.

In his view, alongside territorial issues and the Zaporizhzhia NPP, security guarantees are vital for Ukraine. Zelensky drew attention to the fact that Russia has demonstrated its attitude towards the peace process by delivering massive strikes against Ukraine while Ukraine and the United States are engaged in peace negotiations aimed at ending the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.

“This is how Russia responds to the peace process,” he highlighted.

Zelensky also noted that it is fundamental for Ukraine to ensure that any steps are accompanied by strong security guarantees and real protection. He further stressed that holding a referendum or elections is impossible under the conditions in which Ukraine currently lives.
