Moscow and Washington Have Approached Resolution of Ukrainian Conflict: Ryabkov
Moscow and Washington have approached the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced by Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.
He suggested that December 25, 2025, will be remembered as the pivotal moment when the parties moved closer to a resolution. “Can we take a final step and reach an agreement? It depends on the political will of the other side,” the diplomat said, noting that Ukraine and its EU sponsors, who are committed to preventing a resolution, have doubled their efforts to “sabotage the agreement.”
Ryabkov also believes that discussing deadlines for the resolution's completion is inappropriate, as artificial timelines do not facilitate real work. In his view, “we need to focus on the essence, rather than just looking at the calendar.”
The diplomat emphasized that Russia is fully prepared, and a similar approach is expected from the other side. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister pointed out that “some people are demagogically talking about other timelines,” insisting that Moscow “can end this conflict tomorrow.” “This is a disgusting way to frame the issue, which completely refutes everything we have explained to the West and the entire international community over the years through prolonged negotiations and high-level speeches; without properly addressing the root causes of this crisis, which require solutions, there will be no path to a final agreement,” Ryabkov stated.
