Russia Acts as Mediator Between Israel and Syria with US Approval
Russia, with the approval of the United States, is secretly acting as a mediator between Israel and Syria in negotiations regarding a security agreement between the two parties. This was reported by the Israeli channel Kan11.
It is noted that Moscow is interested in returning its troops to Southern Syria, not far from the Israeli border, while Israel prefers the presence of Russian forces instead of Turkey's strengthening in the area.
According to sources, despite the ongoing disagreements between Israel and Syria, there has been some progress in the past weeks facilitated by Russian mediation.
