Zelensky Announces Agreement with the US on EU Membership Timeline

Ukraine has received support from the United States to set a clear timeline for its accession to the European Union, although the EU has not yet agreed to this, stated Volodymyr Zelensky.

The proposal put forward by Kyiv and published by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform envisions Ukraine's membership in the EU.

"Ukraine's accession to the European Union should be clearly established in the peace agreement as a real guarantee of security. The updated draft of the peace agreement already includes a relevant provision. The US, as the initiator of the document, supports this stance; now the EU's agreement is needed. It is important that Ukraine has a specific date for EU membership, rather than just a vague formulation about the future," Zelensky stated.
