Trump Files Another Lawsuit Against Newspaper, Calls It a Threat to US National Security
The New York Times (NYT) publishes false articles and poses a threat to the national security of the United States, said President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform.
"Their radical left-wing, unbalanced behavior and writing of false articles must be stopped. They are the true enemies of the people," he wrote.
On October 17, the White House leader filed a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper for the second time, demanding $15 billion in damages. This came about a month after a federal judge dismissed the initial complaint. The revised lawsuit differs from the previous one and consists of 40 pages. Some political comments were removed from the complaint, including references to Trump’s victory in the 2024 elections and the ‘Russia collusion hoax.’
Trump first filed a lawsuit against the NYT on September 16. He stated that it was a "great honor" to file a lawsuit against the newspaper in Florida, which he called one of the "most corrupt and systematically decayed" in US history. According to him, the newspaper has become the voice of the radical left Democratic Party.
