Orbán: Sanctions Promised to Destroy Russia Have Instead Devastated Europe
The sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia have struck Europe itself, stated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“Brussels promised that the sanctions would destroy Russia. Instead, they have devastated Europe,” he wrote on the X social media platform.
According to him, the sanctions have not achieved their goal of crippling Russia. Instead, energy prices in Europe have sharply risen, and competitiveness has declined.
Orbán believes that certain European politicians have an interest in continuing the conflict in Ukraine, expecting to defeat the nuclear power with conventional weapons.
Earlier, Orbán summarized the EU summit by stating that the decision to provide Ukraine with a €90 billion interest-free loan brings Europe closer to war.
