Azerbaijan's Ambassador Discusses Implementation of TRIPP Project

The ambassadors of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the United States, Narek Mkrtchyan and Khazar Ibrahim, participated in a roundtable discussion regarding the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) initiative. This was announced in a statement from the U.S.-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC).

The event organized by USACC also included ambassadors from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan based in Washington D.C., as well as senior U.S. government officials and business representatives.

During the meeting, the role of the TRIPP initiative in strengthening regional connectivity and establishing a sustainable U.S. economic presence along the Middle Corridor was discussed.

Vinay Chawla, the director of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of International Peacekeeping Operations and special envoy for international peace issues, stated, "The peace agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia in August, mediated by the U.S. administration, marks a historic advance. TRIPP serves as a means to ensure the sustainability of this peace, transforming the transit route into a driver for mutual prosperity."

Azerbaijan's ambassador Khazar Ibrahim emphasized that the summit of leaders held in Washington this August played a crucial role in advancing the regional peace process. "Azerbaijan has long promoted principles of connectivity and cooperation, developing partnership relations with Turkey, Georgia, and Central Asian countries. The successful implementation of the TRIPP project, as a key element of the Middle Corridor, is vital," he remarked.

Armenian Ambassador Narek Mkrtchyan highlighted that the U.S. participation will help ensure that the initiative brings tangible benefits to the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and other regions.
