Money Transfers Between Azerbaijan and Russia Decrease: Central Bank of Azerbaijan
The volume of money transfers between individuals in Azerbaijan and Russia has significantly decreased in the period from January to September 2025. This was reported by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, in the reported period, transfers made by individuals from Azerbaijan to Russia amounted to $34.289 million, which is a decrease of 22.6% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, transfers from Russia to Azerbaijan by individuals totaled $343.888 million, reflecting a 16.3% decline year-on-year.
Experts estimate that the reduction in transfers between Azerbaijan and Russia may be attributed to changes in economic activity, redirection of financial flows, as well as regional and external economic factors.
