Where Armenia Imports Grain From: Summary

Armenia purchased grain not only from Russia but also from other former Soviet states and the EU in 2025. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia in response to a written inquiry from Sputnik Armenia.

Russia continues to maintain its leading position, supplying 99.8% of the total volume to the Armenian market from January to October 2025 (366.4 thousand tons). The remaining 0.2% of grain (1,731.23 tons) is imported from other countries. Wheat (1,195.6 tons) has also been imported from Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Austria, barley (1.93 tons) from Austria, Germany, and Italy, and corn (533.7 tons) from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, France, and Austria.

The average annual demand for grain in Armenia is about 660 thousand tons, of which 460 thousand tons is wheat, 106 thousand tons is barley, and 93 thousand tons is corn.
