We Will Decide the Most Suitable Format for Conducting Negotiations: Elysee Palace
The Elysee Palace will consider the possibility of organizing negotiations between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days. This was reported by the AFP agency, citing the French presidential office.
"The approval of this step by the Kremlin is positive. In the coming days, we will determine the most suitable format for conducting negotiations," a representative of the Elysee Palace stated.
Earlier, Emmanuel Macron announced in Brussels following the EU summit that it is time for Europe to resume dialogue with Russia. He pointed out that the current format of negotiations regarding Ukraine, where American negotiators discuss settlement conditions with Russia without European involvement, is ineffective.
Following that announcement, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, stated that Vladimir Putin is ready for dialogue with Emmanuel Macron.
