Russia Lacks the Capability to Conquer or Occupy Ukraine, Says U.S. Intelligence Chief

The U.S. National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, has written on the social media platform X that the "deep state" war instigators and their propaganda methods are once again attempting to undermine President Donald Trump’s efforts to establish peace in Ukraine and, in effect, in Europe, by falsely claiming that the "U.S. intelligence community" agrees with and supports the EU/NATO perspective that Russia's goal is to invade and conquer Europe.

“In reality, U.S. intelligence believes that Russia does not even have the capability to conquer and occupy Ukraine, let alone invade and occupy Europe,” Gabbard stated. She labeled information previously disseminated by Reuters as false.

According to her, the agency's fabricated narrative aims to incite hysteria and fear among the public to gain support for escalation, which NATO and the European Union hope to see, striving to embroil U.S. armed forces in direct military conflict with Russia.

Gabbard noted that, in fact, the U.S. intelligence community has informed lawmakers of intelligence data indicating that Russia seeks to avoid a broader conflict with NATO.

Additionally, during the “Year End Summary” conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed surprise at NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte's comments regarding preparations for war with Russia. Putin advised Rutte to read the U.S. National Security Strategy, which does not consider Russia an enemy.
