With this result, Mbappé has equalized the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted the same number of goals in 2013. As Real Madrid's upcoming matches are scheduled for January, Mbappé will not have another opportunity to surpass that record this year.

In the closing minutes of the game, Mbappé could have also scored his 60th goal; however, a second penalty awarded in the 89th minute was revoked by referee Alejandro Muñiz Ruiz after reviewing the footage.
