This is the First Time in EU History: Orbán's Sharp Response
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that the European Union's decision to provide €90 billion in loans to Ukraine indicates a significant shift in Brussels' geopolitical thinking. According to him, this is not merely a financial or technical measure, but a qualitative turn in the EU's approaches.
Orbán pointed out that, in his assessment, for the first time in EU history, 24 member states of the union are collectively providing military loans to a country that is not a member of the EU. The Prime Minister emphasized that there has been no precedent for such actions in the past.
He published the announcement on the X social platform, noting that the logic of the lending mechanism is clear: the lender always expects the money to be repaid. In his comments, he indicated that this circumstance illustrates that financial support has not only political implications but also a long-term accounting nature.
