Yerevan Municipality Urges to Refrain from Burning Waste

In Yerevan, each year during the winter months, there is an increase in airborne dust due to adverse meteorological conditions. This information is reported by the Yerevan Municipality.

During this period, the main sources of air pollution include the burning of various types of fuel for heating, as well as waste burning, which leads to an increase in organic dust and smoke in the air.

The municipality urges citizens to refrain from burning production, consumption, or leaf litter waste in the natural environment, residential areas, or in stoves not designated for such burning, as these actions are prohibited by Article 21 of the RA Law on Air Protection. Violating these regulations could lead to liability as stipulated in Article 85.1 of the RA Code on Administrative Offenses.
