The CSTO's Message to Armenia
Armenia has been and remains an ally of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the organization’s doors are open for the full restoration of the republic’s participation. This was stated by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov in an interview with TASS.
According to him, the CSTO hopes that Armenia will return to the organization’s activities in a full format in the near future. Tasmagambetov emphasized that all necessary conditions and prerequisites are in place, highlighting that the Armenian people are interested in forming a unified security space in Eurasia.
The CSTO Secretary General recalled that in November, Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the issue of leaving the organization is not on the agenda. He regarded this statement as an important signal for maintaining the possibility of further cooperation within the CSTO framework.
At the same time, Tasmagambetov noted that Armenia has currently suspended its participation in the organization’s activities, reflecting the current position of the country’s political leadership towards the CSTO. According to him, this is a decision of an independent and sovereign state that cannot be influenced by any external power or organization.
