Staff at Gyumri School Attempted to Conceal Assault Incident: Details

At the Samvel Vardanian High School in the town of Gyumri, a 14-year-old student was hospitalized with a diagnosis of "displaced fracture of the distal metaphysis of the right 5th metacarpal" after being assaulted by classmates. Hours later, another 14-year-old student sought medical assistance with a diagnosis of "concussion, under question" also following an assault by peers.

The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported in a conversation with "Haykakan Zhamanak" that the relevant documents have been submitted to the Investigative Committee, and a criminal case has been initiated. "The Minister of Internal Affairs has sent a letter to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports regarding the school staff, indicating that they attempted to cover up the incident," the Ministry stated.
