Rubio Suggests the U.S. May Convince Russia and Ukraine to Seek Compromise This Week

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated during a press briefing that the United States could reach a compromise in the conflict resolution between Russia and Ukraine as early as this week.

"We are trying to understand Russia's position, how willing they are to make concessions, and what they would like to retain. We understand Ukraine's position and are trying to find common ground between those viewpoints. This could happen this week, it could happen next month, or it may not happen in the coming months at all. It is not for us to decide," the Secretary said.

Rubio emphasized that the decision regarding the resolution must be made by Russia and Ukraine. He added that the U.S. wants to end the conflict as soon as possible.
